From thematic strategies to broad U.S. equities, MarketVector is building benchmark infrastructure for the next generation of always-on financial products.
FRANKFURT, Germany – September 22, 2026 – MarketVector Indexes™ (“MarketVector”), a pioneer in continuous equity indexing, today announced the expansion of its 24/5 index family, demonstrating how innovative index design can connect traditional investment exposures with the rapidly evolving world of continuous markets.
In June, MarketVector introduced four thematic equity indexes engineered specifically for 24/5 markets in collaboration with Pyth Network and Coinbase:
· MarketVector™ US Listed AI 10 Index (MVUAI10),
· MarketVector™ US Listed China 10 Index (MVUCH10),
· MarketVector™ US Listed Defense 10 Index (MVUDF10),
· MarketVector™ US Listed Innovators 100 Index (MVIN100).
The indexes leverage Pyth Network’s real-time market data infrastructure for near-continuous calculation and underlie perpetual-style equity index futures on Coinbase, bringing institutional index methodology to a market structure historically associated with digital assets.
MarketVector has now expanded that capability with the MarketVector™ US Listed Semiconductor 25 Continuous Index and the MarketVector Top 500 US Profitable Companies Continuous Index (MVPUSC), extending its 24/5 infrastructure from targeted thematic strategies to traditional global benchmarks.
Together, the six indexes demonstrate a scalable framework capable of supporting thematic, custom and broad-market strategies in continuous markets. The flagship contract averages $30 million in daily notional volume and has crossed $100 million on multiple occasions. Since launch, the indexes have run without interruption, and no major index provider has followed. MarketVector’s framework is already designed to scale to 24/7 as weekend pricing sources mature.
MarketVector, founded in 2011 and headquartered in Germany, is an independent index provider owned by VanEck. VanEck has a history of moving early on structural shifts – gold, emerging markets, crypto ETFs – and sees 24//5 index infrastructure as the next one.
Meeting Demand for 24/5 Price Discovery
MarketVector was first to address one of the fundamental challenges of continuous equity indexing: adapting round-the-clock calculation to securities with dividends, corporate actions, market closures and other complexities that do not exist in crypto-native markets.
Its framework combines institutional benchmark governance, corporate-action treatment, pricing discipline, market-disruption rules and fallback procedures with continuous market data—and is designed to evolve toward 24/7 calculation as reliable weekend equity pricing becomes available.
As exchanges extend trading hours and perpetual futures, tokenized assets and other new financial products gain adoption, MarketVector sees an opportunity far beyond these initial indexes:
“We didn’t wait for the industry to catch up, we built the infrastructure for continuous pricing before anyone else did, and that head start is exactly why demand for these benchmarks keeps growing,” said Steven Schoenfeld, CEO at MarketVector.
MarketVector’s early investment is already translating into adoption, with its continuous indexes serving as reference benchmarks for perpetual-style equity index futures on Coinbase.
"It's impressive that MarketVector has been the first to ship this capability,” said Jan van Eck, CEO at VanEck. “The financial markets infrastructure is being affected by several foundational ideas of blockchain — transparency and 24/7 trading are two of these. We're excited to have partnered with Coinbase and Pyth in this area."
“MarketVector brings the benchmark expertise, Pyth brings an innovative model for real-time market data, and Coinbase provides an important marketplace for putting that infrastructure to work,” Raline Sexton, Director of Digital Asset Business Strategy at MarketVector added. “We want exchanges and product issuers thinking about what comes next in financial markets to think of MarketVector as the index partner that can help them build it.”
